A traditional Programme of world class military band recordings, all by famous British composers; probably the best there is. This compilation of historic recordings is from the School of Music’s EMI Gold Disc winning albums, under the baton of the doyen of military musicians, Sir Vivian Dunn. Tracks 1 and 3 to 16 were recorded at EMI’s Abbey Road Nº 1 Studio between 1953 and 1968. Tracks 2 and 17 were recorded in 1968 at Guildford Cathedral. Tracks 12 and 13 were recorded in the presence of the composer, Sir Stanley Bliss and track 7 was recorded in the presence of the composer, Leo Stanley. Playing time: 65 minutes 43 seconds. |
