MUSIC FOR A FESTIVAL The Art of the Military Band Vol 1 ROYAL MARINES SCHOOL OF MUSIC, DEAL
Compact Disc £12.00
This is a brilliant re-issue by the Royal Marines Historical Society (The Eastney Collection). This CD is of serious, some would say “proper” military band music by famous composers. The recording is taken from those made in 1962 and 1965 originally recorded by EMI at the famous Abbey Road Studios and mastered by the legendary Brian Culverhouse and joined by tracks recorded at Guildford Cathedral in 1968 after Sir Vivian’s retirement as Principal Director of Music Royal Marines. This CD get our thorough recommendation. Now available — volume two, The Splendour of the March Playing time 64 minutes 03 seconds |

Stephen Misson’s favourite track: Music for a Festival (would have liked it all to be included) |
