Each year there is a two day concert with this band in the Nye Hall at the Duke of York’s Royal Military School in Dover. Such is the popularity of this Folkestone based band that the concert is normally a sell out on both days.

2008 was a unique occasion when the Old Comrades was asked to mass with this world famous band. The Old Comrades is a band based in Deal, UK, that was formed by the author of this web site, Stephen Misson. The band consists of retired former Royal Marines Band musicians that still reside in the Deal area with the intention of performing just one charity concert with no rehearsals on the Deal Memorial Bandstand in 2005. Such was the popularity of this event that the concert has become an annual affair.

The band was honoured to be chosen to mass with the Brigade of Gurkhas and we venture to think that both bands benefited from this alliance.

The bands were joined by the Corps of Drums from Commando Training Centre, Royal Marines, Lympstone and soprano Margaret Threadgold.

A donation from each sale of this CD is for the Gurkha Welfare Trust and Children with Disabilities.
