Text Box: About
Cinque Port Music

We are proud to be allowed to use the emblem of the Cinque Ports as our logo.

The company came into existence with the retirement of two Warrant Officers of the Royal Marines Band Service. They had over 56 years of experience between them — one retiring as the Corps Bandmaster and the other as the Chief Librarian. Both sought to continue their musical career and felt that it would be a total waste of their experience if they did not continue to develop their knowledge of military (wind) band music. Thus the company was established in 1978 with the aim of publishing music for military and brass band, much of it written by our ex-colleagues in the Royal Marines.

We decided to promote our catalogue of music by employing the Royal Marines Band from Deal to make an LP record which we titled “Old Comrades — New Comrades”. To launch the record we commissioned the Royal Marines Band to perform a concert in the Winter Gardens, Margate.

From those early days we have now an extensive catalogue of almost all available Royal Marines recordings and have promoted over 75 concerts with the Royal Marines Band. Click here to see details of the 2007 concerts.

Thus we use the word “specialists” without reservation knowing that no-one in the world knows more about Royal Marines Band recordings than us.

In January 2001 we sold our music publishing aspect to Valentine Music who are retaining the name Cinque Port Music Publishers and in June 2001 sold our printing aspect which now enables us to concentrate solely on the other two aspects: promoting concerts with the Royal Marines bands and selling our Royal Marines recordings by both mail order and over the internet. We now do this working from home.

This site was built by Stephen Misson and is his first attempt at web design. We welcome any comments on the site, particularly any suggestions as to its improvement — although a little praise never goes unnoticed!

Please enter our site and view our catalogue — we are confident you will find many things of interest. We are sorry that we are not yet able to take orders on-line — we’re working on it, just need to learn how!

As a new member of Rotary we can proudly stand by the “Four Way Test” of the Rotary principals, namely:

· Is it the TRUTH?

· Is it FAIR to all concerned?

· Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

· Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

We believe our ethics of trading live up to the standards expected of Rotary by promising to offer our goods on a completely honest and trustworthy basis. You can have the peace and confidence of  knowing you will be welcomed as a friend as much as a customer. We have a vast amount of customers worldwide who know that our dealings are efficient, fair and honest to such an extent that they prefer not to buy elsewhere.
